Terms of Use & Code of Conduct

Acceptance of terms

By accessing, browsing, reading, or citing FujiGo — Bahau Heritage Archive (the Archive, we, us, or our), you agree to abide by and be bound by these Legal Terms, Privacy Statement, and associated Archival Disclaimers. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of this website.

Non-profit, educational and historical purpose

The Archive is an independent, non-commercial, public-interest historical preservation project. Its mission is to document, research, synthesize, and commemorate the World War II agricultural settlement of Fuji-Go (Bahau / Mahsan, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia), alongside the wartime experiences of Eurasian, Catholic, Chinese, and related Malayan and Singaporean communities during the Japanese Occupation (1941–1945).

Intellectual Property, Ownership & Non-Claim of Archival Rights

Original written content and site compilation

The original historical essays, organizational frameworks, translations, editorial syntheses, and website codebase are the copyrighted property of the FujiGo Archive and its researchers, protected under Malaysian and international copyright conventions.

Non-ownership of archival photographs and historical assets

Illustrative Reconstructions & Visual Representations

To assist researchers and the public in visualizing physical landscapes and wartime scenes where no contemporary photographs survive, such as undocumented cemetery grounds, early village signboards, excavated brick foundations, or unrecorded events, certain images are illustrative reconstructions, digital visualizations, or AI-assisted historical interpretations.

Archival & Historical Research Disclaimers

Non-definitive nature of wartime records

Information on this website is assembled through a cross-disciplinary examination of wartime military logs, church archives, press reports, declassified intelligence, and firsthand oral testimonies recorded across multiple decades. Because Japanese Occupation records (1941–1945) were frequently destroyed, lost, or written under wartime censorship, specific dates, death tolls, casualty figures, and geographic boundaries remain subjects of ongoing scholarly discourse and differing historical interpretations. The Archive is an evolving historical resource provided on an as-is and as-available basis for academic inquiry and remembrance, without a guarantee of exhaustive factual completeness.

External references and scholarly links

Links to third-party archival portals, scholarly articles, or external databases are provided only for research convenience. The Archive exercises no control over and assumes no responsibility for external content, availability, or accuracy.

Sensitive Historical Subject Matter Advisory

The Archive documents historical wartime atrocities, military occupation policies including the Sook Ching mass screenings, forced civilian relocations, fatal epidemics including malaria, dysentery, and beriberi, malnutrition, and loss of life. All materials are presented objectively and somberly for educational, historical, and commemorative purposes. Reader discretion is advised when viewing sensitive historical topics.

Privacy Statement & Data Ethics

Data minimization

The Archive operates strictly on a philosophy of privacy preservation and zero commercial tracking.

Technical logs and local preferences

Research submissions and oral-history confidentiality

If you contact the Archive at contact@fujigo.site to contribute personal recollections, family memoirs, or historical artifacts, your contact information and personal details will be kept confidential. No oral-history testimony, private manuscript, or identifying biographical detail of living individuals will be published without express written permission.

Notice, Archival Takedowns & Historical Corrections Policy

The Archive is deeply committed to ethical stewardship, historical truth, and the protection of intellectual and moral rights.

Historical corrections and additions

Notice and takedown procedure

Copyright holders, archive custodians, photographers, and familial descendants or estate representatives with concerns about an archival image or document used without appropriate credit or preferred attribution format, or seeking withdrawal or redaction of specific material, should contact us directly at contact@fujigo.site with:
